This is my late father-in-law, Don Alan.

 

Don was the first magician to have his own series on television.  It was called The Magic Ranch and ran Saturday mornings on ABC.

 

In his early career, Don did the big tricks...

 

but eventually carved out his unique niche by becoming"The Father of Modern Close-up Magic."  Magic Magazine listed Don as one of the 100 Most Influential Magicians of the 20th Century, and his legacy of tricks, performance style, convention magic, and innovation lives on.
